Miwa Gemini, the subject of thredUP’s #badassmoms Edition/04, first caught our, er, ears, when we heard her music (find her on Spotify!). Turns out, in addition to being a musician and mom to 1 1/2 year-old Jarvis, Miwa has a few handmade secrets up her sleeve. Read on!
Every Day Gentle Moisturizer (So gentle. I use it everywhere, including on my face.)
INGREDIENTS
- -¼ cup of organic coconut oil
- -10 drops of lavender essential oil
DIRECTIONS
Mix ingredients together in a glass jar you can seal. Apply right after showering or bathing.
Delicious Everyday Snack (This is my go-to quick snack for Jarvie!)
INGREDIENTS
- 1 zucchini
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- salt, pepper and paprika to taste
DIRECTIONS
Cut the zucchini in two length-wise and slice it about ¼ inch thick (you will get a half moon shape). Warm up a sauté pan (I use a small cast iron skillet) and melt the butter. Sauté zucchini until translucent (about 5-7 minutes). Season with salt, pepper and paprika to taste.
Other options: You can use ½ cup of mushrooms cut in half, or ½ lb of chicken thigh cut in ½ cubes instead of zucchini. You can use cumin or turmeric instead of paprika.
Jarvie’s Hair Detangler (Perfect for children!)
INGREDIENTS
- 3 teaspoons organic apple cider vinegar
- 12 drops of lavender essential oil
- ½ cup of water (boiled and cooled)
DIRECTIONS
Mix vinegar and oil and let it stand about 10 mins. Mix in with water in a glass spray bottle.
